Vantage Power Appoints Former Daimler Division Chairman & CEO as Non-Executive Board Member
Vantage Power, the company behind the award-winning hybrid and electric technology for heavy-duty vehicles, has today announced the appointment of Dr. Till Becker as a Non-Executive Director on its main Board. Dr Becker was formerly Chairman and CEO of DaimlerChrysler Northeast Asia, a Deputy Board Member of DaimlerChrysler AG worldwide; and a Member of the Board of Daimler’s bus division, the largest bus manufacturer in the world. He was also a Member of the Board of Daimler Truck. Vantage Power, founded in 2011 by two graduates of Imperial College, develops and manufactures three core technologies to enable the reduction of emissions from new and existing heavy-duty vehicles. State of the art battery technology, control systems and a best in class telemetry system are combined into a portfolio of 3 products: • VPVision, an IoT telemetry and remote vehicle management system, which is applicable to all forms of heavy-duty vehicle;• A series of powertrain modules, which allow vehicle manufacturers to bring hybrid and electric vehicles rapidly to market; and • A hybrid retrofit solution for buses that enables a reduction in fuel and emissions by up to 40% and 92% respectively.
Dr. Becker will provide strategic counsel to the board using the expertise he has gained from decades at the top of the automotive corporate world. Dr. Becker is a Strategic Advisor to the board of DHL and is a Director of NASDAQ listed Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc.. Previously he held the positions of President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz in Turkey and Portugal, as well as CEO of Daimler in India and Member of the Board of TATA Motors.
