Hybrid Battery System

Vantage Power’s battery pack technology is specifically designed for the rigours of heavy-duty vehicle applications. VP’s Hybrid Battery System is a direct liquid cooled, lithium-ion cylindrical cell based battery pack for hybrid vehicle applications where high power density and cycle life are of paramount importance.

Using a refrigerated, direct liquid cooling system allows the battery to maintain homogeneous cell temperatures whilst allowing the battery to be installed in hot environments. The pack design handles safety through a multi-tiered approach. Active limits are controlled through the Battery Management System whilst modules are separated into physical compartments creating barriers against the propagation of a thermal runaway event.

This Hybrid Battery System has been intensely tested in on-road vehicle applications ensuring reliability in real world use. The Battery Management System can integrate directly with VP’s cloud telemetry services (VPVision) to provide predictive and diagnostic capabilities that can truly reduce operational and warranty support costs.

Each Battery System is a fully self contained unit that incorporates all the necessary safety features. To achieve greater energy storage capacity in a particular application customers can choose to install multiple battery packs in parallel.
